At SSE Enterprise Rail we have the primary purpose of ‘Powering Britain’s Railways’ with over 15 years’ experience delivering projects to meet the growing demands of Britain’s rail infrastructure with diverse experience in design, engineering, project, reactive and maintenance works across the whole UK rail network. With over 200 Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) codes, we are one of the most qualified principal contractors on the UK’s rail network. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Director of Account.
CP6 represents a significant opportunity for SSE Enterprise as it continues in its journey of growth within the Rail Industry. We are seeking a Director of Account who can develop a winning strategy for this opportunity, who has a wide network of relationships within the industry and can harness the skills of the Group to present a strong value proposition to the market. The successful candidate must have an inherent rail skills base, be able to formulate deliverables and drive winning formulae through partnerships models that add immense value to the market.
As an experienced manager, you will ensure the short and long term development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure with all health and safety and other statutory regulations including alignment with both industry standards and Group policies and procedures. It is essential that you establish and maintain effective communication with the Rail Leadership team, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the Project team is providing the appropriate range and quality of services required to complete projects on time and within budget. You will personally represent or ensure the Business Unit is represented, in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and key contracts to secure the most effective project delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will engage in SSE Enterprise Rail management meetings when appropriate and produce robust management reports, detailing progress on attainment of Projects. You will be a strong railway industry leader, with experience ideally gained within Train and Freight Operating Companies, ideally with a strong network of industry contacts. With exceptional communication skills, you will have the ability to convey complex infrastructure in a manner that simplifies it for wider understanding.
