This role is about governance and assurance and ensuring they’re in place for business processes and systems that interact with the wider set of Smart systems, be they internal or external. It provides service assurance for asset management, managing the definition of internal processes and service levels required to support SSE, whilst ensuring that volumes and processes are upheld to maintain accurate and robust reporting.

You’ll have accountability for managing information security for the Smart systems and ensuring the end to end service request and anomaly detection process operates in line with legislative requirements.

You’ll also manage team activities, setting objectives to ensure forecasting is accurate. You’ll assess and report SSE performance against the forecast, analysing data and making adjustments where necessary to maintain accurate service levels. Working to KPI’s, defined by the Supplier & Industry Relationship Lead, you’ll ensure SSE is achieving what’s required and expected according to providers and wider regulations. Furthermore, you’ll meet with suppliers (DCC) and liaise with the Smart Design Authority to gain the latest project information on Service Request usage changes.

To be successful you should have experience of working in a regulated business, ideally the Energy industry. You should demonstrate an excellent understanding of asset management working practices for Service Requests, DCC interaction and Anomaly Detection as well as a thorough knowledge of Regulation and Industry Codes and in particular the Smart Energy Code (SEC). You should also be an expert in the principles of information security management for Smart Metering or a similar environment.

You should be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications. You should have ITIL v3 Diploma or equivalent and be conversant with continual improvement methodology (Kaizen, Six Sigma for example) as well as holding a project management qualification such as Prince 2. You should have a good knowledge of IT testing principles and practices and an understanding of IT service provision. Experience of negotiating service level agreements and setting KPI’s is essential.

Moreover, you should be a confident leader with excellent presentation and communication skills and with a demonstrable track record of motivating others.
