Job Title: Propositions Development Manager
Location: Glasgow, Perth or Reading
Salary: £36,500 – £55,000 depending on skills and experience plus benefits + annual bonus

The SSE Retail vision is to become the leading supplier of energy and essential services and the Propositions team play a key role in the delivery of our vision by creating and delivering insight driven, customer centric and brand enhancing domestic propositions.
As Proposition Development Manager, you will be personally responsible for developing and delivering customer propositions across our core markets of energy, home services and retail telecoms.
Some of the other key accountabilities involved with this role will include;
*Working alongside our Customer Experience and Digital teams to ensure propositions remain straightforward and easy to access.
*Support proposition recommendations by creating clear business cases and demonstrating commercial and value opportunities across both energy and non-energy components.
*Collaborate with Insight and keep up to date with the external environment, including competitor activity and the needs of our target audience.
*Creating proposed briefs, approval papers and all other supporting documentation, ensuring they follow the correct process and receive appropriate sign off.
*Ensure all propositions are compliant and delivered against audit requirements.
*Champion the creativity and innovation throughout the wider business, using data and insight to drive new proposition opportunities.
Your Skills and Experience
This is an exciting and challenging role, with the opportunity to make a real difference at a pivotal time for our business, therefore, we are looking for an energetic, innovative individual who has extensive experience working within a propositions function and using customer and market intelligence to drive propositions development and bring new products to market. You should be commercially minded with a natural flair for problem solving and data analysis. We need you to have outstanding stakeholder management skills in order to create and maintain strong relationships and manage any conflict should it arise.
Yes - we work in a highly regulated environment, so it’s crucial that you have a solid understanding of the challenges facing the energy market today. Knowledge of project management methodologies as well as P&L, specifically cost benefit analysis, will also be advantageous. Strong communication skills will also be essential so that you can articulate complex, and sometimes technical, information in a clear and concise manner across varying levels of internal and external stakeholders as well as senior management.
