Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week

The Role

We’re busy installing Smart meters for all our customers and this is a golden opportunity for you to play a key role in ensuring this programme is a success.  You’ll provide support and guidance to drive the core Programme Management Office (PMO) functions including planning, reporting, change control, document management and resource demand management.

You’ll support governance process improvements, planning activities, RAID management and general administration. You’ll prepare progress reports, monitoring project dependencies and milestones against the portfolio and will assist in developing project management methods, systems and tools.  You’ll also document lessons learnt and will collaborate with Project and Programme Managers to identify how issues may be resolved, as well as identifying development opportunities amongst the delivery community.

Your Skills and Experience

Having previous experience in a PMO, you’ll be well organised and adaptable to shifting priorities and demands.  You’ll be familiar with project management methodologies and the full project lifecycle.  Ideally, you will have been a Project Manager before and will have a good working knowledge of key project processes, including status reporting, budgeting and estimating, planning, dependency management, risk and issue management, quality gates and change management.  In addition, if you have experience of setting up a new PMO function then we’re especially interested in hearing from you.

You should possess strong written and oral communication skills and be persuasive, encouraging, and motivating. You’ll have the ability to prioritise effectively in a high-pressure environment and should be skilled at tracking a high number of projects simultaneously.  You should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Project and Visio. You should be qualified in PRINCE2 and a qualification in P3O would be a distinct advantage.
