Job Title: Connections Delivery Performance Manager

Location: Berkshire (Reading); Hampshire / Dorset ( Portsmouth); Wiltshire (Melksham / Swindon)

Salary: up to £63,500 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent| Full Time|37 hours per week

Our Role

As Connections Delivery Performance Manager, you will work alongside the Regional Heads to ensure successful delivery of Customer Connections across the SEPD Regional areas. You will be SSEN’s responsible manager for overseeing the construction and management of new connections to our customers, driving success within the Company by empowering teams in line with the leadership blueprint.

Working closely with the Director of Customer Operations and Heads of Region, you will ensure the delivery teams within the work area work safely, delivering Customer Connections on time, on budget and to the complete satisfaction of the customer. You will be responsible for liaising with, and supporting our commercial connections team to constantly review pricing structures, innovation and ongoing improvements.

You’ll be responsible for identifying and delivering change within Connections Delivery ensuring exceptional customer service with proactive communication, embedding a culture that puts the customer at the heart of everything we do.  You will drive value through innovation, implementing a continuous improvement philosophy and lead, develop and grow the skills and capability of your teams through rigorous implementation of performance management. You will ensure that all customer connections are delivered in line with SSEN processes and procedures, reviewing to ensure full compliance with the competitions in connections regulations.

 

Your Skills and Experience

You’ll have an excellent knowledge of the Electricity Distribution Networks and the interface with Transmission, understanding statutory, regulatory and license requirements, industry codes and engineering standards. Ideally, you will have a minimum HNC educational qualification in Electrical Engineering with industry experience. You’ll be commercially astute with experience managing annual multi million pound budgets, both capital and revenue, understanding how to deliver value through the Regulatory settlement.

A proven track record of managing large teams and 3rd party partner contactors to deliver and exceed targets and the ability to lead, coach and motivate is essential. You will be able to promote and engage on safety at all levels actively embedding yourself in the safety culture and constructively challenging unsafe behaviour and praising positive behaviour. You’ll have exceptional communication, interpersonal and engagement skills with the ability to network, internally and externally to facilitate the development of customers and supply chain. You will be able to influence decisions and challenge the status quo proposing innovative, appropriate solutions to improve business processes and ways of working.
