Salary: £34,525 - £45.597 depending on skills and experience

Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week

The Role

Like all energy suppliers, SSE are busy installing new Smart Meters in customers’ homes and business across the UK. With hundreds of meter installers out on the road daily, as well as many more joining the organisation we are now looking for a Senior Business Analyst to focus on planning and scheduling to join our team.

In this role, you will be supporting the Performance Managers by monitoring, analysing and creating operational reports/processes relating to our Metering business. These will be specifically in relation to meter deployment, field resource utilisation amongst others. You will develop prototypes of management and operational information and make recommendations on changes to business processes, training or KPIs to help drive efficiencies. You will also guide data cleansing resources on methodology and process to clean up data to ensure the Smart meter appointment booking process is as effective as possible.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for you to have experience of;

  • Metric development and performance reporting.
  • Advanced spreadsheet modelling using MS Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications.
  • Experience of applying analytics in a logical and structured manner.
  • Workshop facilitation.
  • Requirements definition.
  • Report writing and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of SSE systems and data sources is desirable.
  • Knowledge of smart metering and customer-focused transformation.
  • Experience of working in project / programme environment.
  • Advanced user of

    • MS Excel.
    • MS Access.
    • MS Query Analyzer and SQL Server Tables user.
    • Visual Basic for Applications.

You will have excellent communication skills, be used to working to set deadlines in an operational environment that is geographically diverse and enjoy working as part of a team. Your background is likely to be that you have worked in a highly numerical and analytical role and have used your ability to turn data insights into a compelling story & set of actions.

A knowledge of SSE’s metering business, or the UK Energy market is a benefit but not essential.
