Salary: £39,413 - £52,055 depending on skills and experience

Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week

The Role

The core purpose of Smart Asset Operations Release Management is to ensure SSE’s smart metering solution is maintained to the latest hardware, software and firmware level.

As a Release Delivery Manager, your role is to lead 3rd Party Suppliers, IT and Meter Technical teams through the delivery lifecycle for BAU and project releases.

You’ll ensure each release is delivered in accordance with processes set out in the Release Management Governance Framework. You’ll manage the technical delivery lifecycle from completing technical impact assessments to coordinating release governance, ensuring stakeholders are informed and signed onto releases impacting the wider business.

Your Skills and Experience

You will have proven experience of delivering technically complex solutions in to a highly customised multi-platform environment.

You will be accountable for leading the delivery of smart metering solutions and you’ll use your great facilitation and communication skills to ensure compliance with our Governance Framework.

Being a confident and professional individual with excellent organisational skills you will be self-motivated and resilient to the multiple challenges that this role demands. Using your prior skills in stakeholder management you will chair regular interactions with teams across our business. You will have the ability to adapt swiftly to changing business demands and relish the opportunity to constantly be looking to improve the ways we work.  

You will be skilled in identifying risks & issues and will be responsible for ensuring appropriate handling plans are in place to minimise disruption to our schedule.

A working knowledge of the Smart Metering Implementation Programme will be advantageous and ideally you will bring knowledge of the gas and electricity industry.

Other desirable experience and skills might include: PRINCE2/PMP, MSP, Business Change Management, Continuous Improvement
