Job Title: Gas Technical Advisors Business Energy

Salary: £21,161 – £27,947 Depending on Experience

Permanent Role / Full Time Hours

The Role

Gas Technical provides support to Business Energy by ensuring the billing system is operating accurately, updating service provider and networks systems, meter and service upgrades, AMR, in addition to managing Xoserve gas volume discrepancies.

You’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders, network and meter operators and our energy consultants to deliver a first-class service for our customers. It is essential you have an eye for detail as you’ll be responsible for analysing data sets, updating the billing system and informing the business of any changes affecting billing. You may be required to produce detailed analysis on actions taken to support the business in any cost recovery necessary.

You will be able to work on your own initiative, be inquisitive, decisive and able to see tasks through to completion. Ideally you will have a background within utilities, though training can be provided, your communication and decision-making skills will be second to none. We have vacancies within our Gas Operations Team and Gas AMR Team. You’ll be placed within either team depending on your experience.


Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will need to have either previous experience in a managerial role or a relevant role: customer services experience, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to lead, inspire and develop your team.

You will need be commercially and competitor aware, have strong analytical skills, a methodical approach, good organisation skills, high professional standards and accuracy ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and meet compliance.

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, Word and Excel are required, and you will be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach in the workplace.
