Job Title: HGV Driver/ Reinstator

Location: New Forest and Poole area

Hourly Rate: £9.80 to £12.60 dependent on skills and experience

The role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Reinstator/HGV Driver, to join our team in Poole and New Forest Depots. In this hands-on role, you will work with your team to provide safe and effective methods of signing and guarding traffic management. Working outside in all weather conditions, to strict timescales, your work must comply with regulations we abide by, and you must also be able to deliver excellent customer service where reactive maintenance is required. This is a physically demanding role, involving extensive reinstatement works on the highway and private land. Working closely with your manager, you may also be asked to assist with other ad hoc projects.

 

Your Skills and Experience

- You will enjoy working outdoors, and being involved in an array of projects, whatever the weather

- Safety will be a key focus and you will work in-line with SSE’s safety guidelines in every aspect of your role

- You’ll have previous experience in a similar role, including experience with reinstating techniques including Tarmacadam, modular servicing, slabs and concrete

- Experience working on public highways, including setting up and dismantling chapter 8 and 2-way temporary traffic signals; all whilst adhering to the code of practice and working alongside hotbox, concrete and grab lorries

We also ask that you have some specific qualifications to strengthen your application;

- A full, current HGV driving licence is essential

- Qualifications in CPCS or EUSR and NRSWA

- Qualifications in abrasive wheels and vibration pedestrian/ride on roller would be advantageous
