We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Substation Clearance and Inspection Operative to join our team.

Your main responsibilities will be to be involved in Substation landscape maintenance and weed control. You’ll be involved in annual Substation plant inspections on SSE’s 11kV network. The role can be physically demanding, and you will be working outdoors in all weathers.

If you enjoy working outdoors, this is your chance to contribute to the maintenance of our network, through a rolling programme of sustainable clearance.

 

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent customer service skills and a high regard for your own and the safety of others in all situations. You’ll have good problem solving and organisational skills. As there is a requirement to travel in various locations, a full driving license is therefore essential. As a lone worker, you will need to be self-motivated. Previous experience with landscaping machinery, PA1 and PA6 NPTC spraying qualifications would be an advantage, but not necessary as all training can be provided.
