Salary: SS08 £39,413 – £52,055 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance

Permanent| Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available| 37 hours per week


Our Role

As an 11/33/132kV Cable Team Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design of several capital projects from initial high-level scope, cable route feasibility including managing legal environmental and consent, cable system design, CDM and Safety management, financial analysis and forecasting and assisting with the construction and closure phases. 

This will include managing each project financial forecasting, safety management, programming and scheduling, monthly reporting, governance for the all design elements whilst assisting with construction, land consents, Quality Assurance, public relations and tender management.


Your Skills and Experience

To be successful, you’ll have experience in the cable design of cable schemes up including 11/33/132kV and an appreciation of the project management and substation design of complex cable scheme projects, understanding the financial and reporting aspects of projects.  A minimum HNC in a relevant subject is preferred, in addition to experience in this field with a DNO or a supplier to the industry. 

Excellent communication skills are essential and previous experience in applying the Construction Design, and Management Regulations 2015 to technically complex projects would be highly advantageous. There will be a requirement to work to tight timescales and provide first class customer service at all stages of the project; therefore, the ability to thrive under pressure is essential. It is also important that you have an eye on long term development and can identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.
