Salary: £18,872 – £24,923 depending on skills and experience + benefits + annual bonus

The Role

The multi-disciplined team in the Sloy Section is responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and repair of our Hydro Generation plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state. As Auxiliary Plant Attendant, you’ll assist in the safe operation and maintenance of the Hydro Generation fixed plant and associated water catchment area.

Some of your other main accountabilities will include;

-Carrying out routine work involving inspections and checks on power stations, dams, buildings and civil catchments and maintaining all buildings, plant and catchment.

-Assist the maintenance team to carry out minor repairs and maintenance.

-Carry out routine checks and help to keep all our premises and fixed plant to a high standard of cleanliness and operational effectiveness.

Ensure effective communication with other team members and report operational defects as they arise.

-Carry out risk assessments, plus environmental and safety inspections and will receive training to operate fixed Generation plant.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a practical person with the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively as you’ll be interacting with the public and people at all levels of the business.

You should have basic trade skills and be able to demonstrate some knowledge of civil maintenance works including ditching, road repairs and building maintenance and repairs. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience of civil works.

Due to the nature of the role you must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions and it may be necessary to carry out work out with normal working hours when required. You’ll be computer literate as you’ll be required to become proficient in using our maintenance scheduling and reporting software and other company software applications for which training will be given.

A full driving licence is essential, and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.

Applicants should ideally reside or be prepared to relocate to within 30 miles of Cairndow.
