SSE Facilities department is looking to recruit an M&E Maintenance Technician for Ireland based in Dublin Red Oak Office to principally cover the Dublin office with occasional visits required to our 6 depots across Ireland, including Limerick and Cork area providing a service to the Company’s sites in respect of maintenance/service/repairs and installation of a variety of building services. The successful person must be multi-skilled with an electrical base trade qualification. You must be able to demonstrate multi-trade experience within a similar role, able to achieve the highest level of customer service, work under pressure, possess a flexible approach and be prepared to travel. Experience working with Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning systems, Generators, Boilers, UPS systems and Fire alarms.
-To undertake such maintenance repairs, installation or servicing work as detailed by the facilities team.
-To comply with the Company’s procedures when working on SSE premises.
-To observe and comply with all working practices and to ensure compliance with the appropriate health & safety statutory requirements at all times.
-To maintain all Company issued equipment in a clean, serviceable, presentable and safe manner.
-Ensure all Company paperwork is completed accurately and legibly at all times and presented in a timely manner.
-Participate in the Company’s out of hour’s emergency call out rota as required.
-Maintain a professional manner at all times and develop good working relationships with customers and other staff members.
-To locate & purchase items of equipment to facilitate the speedy & effective service to our clients.
-Communicate current status of works to our Helpdesk after completion of visit.
-Ensure that work area is maintained in a clean and tidy state and dispose of all waste products in a suitable manner and in line with company procedures.
-Respond in a timely manner to verbal/written and electronic requests.
-Act as First point of contact for the site facilities requirements within the cluster.
-Sign off facilities work sheets ensuring completion within allocated times and return to the helpdesk daily
-Carry out multi skilled activities within the facilities remit
Your Skills and Experience
-Ability to effectively communicate with SSE staff and service providers.
-Ability to show a professional attitude to whatever jobs carried out.
-Ability to support and contribute to M&E and building fabric maintenance
-A good knowledge of health and safety
-Ability to handle tools correctly and safely
-Minimum City & Guilds level 3 qualified or equal equivalent
-Desirable: Experience on domestic water systems
-Desirable: IPAF, PASMA, gas safe
-Good communication skills.
-Multi skilled. With an electrical bias (certified to current regulations)
-Good decision maker and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
-Use of Microsoft Office and CAFM Packages.
-Flexibility - This is a mobile role servicing our local customer base however occasional support to our nationwide clients may be required and may include overnight stays.
-Clean Driving License is required.
