Salary: £31,500 – £47,900 depending on skills and experience + benefits + annual bonus

Permanent Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available

The Role

Energy Portfolio Management and Investment (EPMI) acts as the route to the wholesale energy markets for the SSE group, responsible for managing the risks and opportunities associated with the operation of our generation and supply assets.  We are one of the main participants in the UK and Ireland Wholesale energy markets.

We are currently looking for an Assurance Analyst to join our Market Development & Assurance Team which focuses on the internal controls as well as the regulatory and market change-related risk management and compliance.

SSE operates under a model of “three lines of defence” for its control responsibilities.  Assurance acts as the first line of defence, undertaking a monitoring and control role that is embedded within the business.

You will undertake a supporting role to the Market Development & Assurance Manager with the delivery monitoring tools and controls related to internal compliance as well as governance, statutory and legislative requirements, information security, data protection and licence obligations pertaining to the EPMI business activities.

You will work closely as part of the Assurance Team to assist in embedding an effective assurance framework across the business and will be responsible for tracking and reporting on key controls to EPM Management. Your responsibilities will also include conducting reviews in accordance with the work plan, maintaining training needs analysis and records and maintaining quality standards and control of key documentation.

Please note that the main location for this post needs to be in Perth. However, we are happy to consider flexible arrangements after an initial period of onboarding, which will depend on skills, but it’s estimated in 2 – 3 months, where the successful candidate could move to work up to two days a week from an alternative location if required.

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for a highly motivated and confident individual, who has a proven track record at building and developing strong working.  You’ll demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills and addition to strong data and report writing skills.  A good working knowledge of Excel, Access and Visio would be advantageous.
