Our Role

SSE Enterprise Contracting is part of the SSE Group and is a leading mechanical and electrical contractor in the UK with an annual turnover of around £500 million. Operating in a dynamic and growing environment, we have an exciting opportunity for electricians to join our business to support recent contract wins across the Plymouth and Cornwall regions.

In this role you'll be involved in electrical installation works across commercial and industrial premises, including MOD, Healthcare and Manufacturing industries.

Working on these contracts, you will be able to demonstrate competency in various types of industrial and commercial installations as well as any necessary servicing and maintenance work without immediate supervision in a safe, efficient and economical manner.

Your role will be to deliver new installations in commercial and industrial premises, together with commissioning and testing electrical systems and equipment, issuing relevant certifications as required and setting out jobs from drawings and specifications.

Your Skills and Experience

Having completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and achieved either of the following:

-NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work

-Obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent)

Additionally, you will have obtained or be working towards City and Guilds 2391 and we require Achievement Measurement 2 or equivalent. PASMA/IPAF training will also be advantageous

You’ll have experience of 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and sound knowledge of Industrial, Commercial & Domestic installation requirements and the ability to effectively record faults/deviations. 

You will demonstrate detailed knowledge of Electrical operating systems and compliance with the current edition of BS7671, Construction Industry Safety Regulations as well as SSEC policies and procedures and a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice.

A passion for safety and the ability to work as a team and independently is essential, along with excellent time management and communication skills.   

A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
