Our Role

As Proposal Manager you will own all aspects of the appropriate proposal process (RFI, ITT, RFP etc.) for assigned opportunities including the management of opportunities under general supervision, establishing clear timelines, meeting client requirement, and providing solutions for obstacles.

Working alongside the Bid Director, you will be required to support account teams by developing sales proposals that articulate a compelling story to maximise SSE’s chances of winning business and feeding reusable data in to knowledge management for inclusion in to the Sales Zone and Bid Content Library.

You will facilitate strategic and operational briefings related to the opportunity to obtain vital information while maintaining the bid team SharePoint site to ensure smooth handover to delivery teams upon win decision and therefore managing PQQ, RFI, EOI submissions.

You will be based within the Telecoms team which is split into 5 sectors and as the Bid Manager you will cover any one of these 5 areas working with teams ranging from 5-15 people.  This is an excellent opportunity to work within a varied role which will allow you to work on more bids where you can demonstrate your passion for the full end to end role of Proposal Manager.

Your Skills and Experience

The Proposal Manager should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience to demonstrate an excellent understanding of bid management procedures with an analytical approach to customer requirements; displaying the ability to plan, multi task and prioritise throughout the process.

As a strong leader you will be passionate in your role and have strong communication skills; allowing you to build and motivate proposal teams and have a clear understanding of strategic proposal management processes, including pre-proposal planning, strategy development and storyboarding as well as extensive bid writing experience while working to tight deadlines.  Problem-solving skills are also key to the performance of the role.

The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of all Microsoft packages, knowledge of SharePoint is desirable but not essential.
