Our Role

As Desk Based Account Manager your role will be to develop a sales pipeline of Enterprise clients (Contracting, Rail, Telecoms & Utilities) where you will build key relationships and bring solutions to SSE’s Telecoms customers.  You will primarily be developing new business with an element of account management of existing customers.  You will also provide desk-based support to a Senior Account Director, responsible for growing a key Enterprise sector account.

You will collaborate with the product management and marketing departments to ensure that the features, benefits, positioning, and pricing are thoroughly understood by target customers.  Deal sizes can range from tens of thousands to a hundred thousand pounds and you will be expected to be comfortable working with customers across the spectrum.

Your Skills and Experience

You will be a confident and tenacious salesperson with a firm grasp on the UK Telecoms market and its current trends, competitor positioning, market dynamics and developments. 

Ideally, you’ll be experienced in new business sales and account management over the telephone.  It would be beneficial if you have created and run successful New Business campaigns in collaboration with your marketing department, but this is not essential. You'll have an awareness in sales forecasting, targeting and reporting and a passion for learning.

You will have a good understanding of working within a large matrixed environment to deliver high value proposals and solutions to customers.  Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of selling strategies would be advantageous.

Preferably, you’d have verifiable new business success in the Service Provider market, but this is not a pre-requisite.
