Job Title: Permit Office Engineer

Location: Medway Power Station, Kent

Salary: Up to £56,500 depending on skills and experience + excellent benefits + annual bonus

The Role

As Permit Office Engineer, you’ll play an active role within the Safe System of Work (SSoW) to safety approve all work orders (WO) before documents are printed.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;

-Writing isolation instructions and prepare safety documents to allowing maintenance programmes to proceed.

-Assist the Operations Support Engineer and the duty Shift Group Leader on a daily basis to ensure plant isolations for operational and maintenance activities are executed in a safe and timely manner.

-Provide timely advice to the Duty SGL on a daily basis to ensure plant isolations are executed in a safe and timely manner.

-Acting as day to day maintenance co-ordinator to release and isolate systems and as SSoW co-ordinator for planned outages. 

-Assist the Process Safety Team with training packages for the ten main authorisation categories: AP1, AP2, AP3, AP4, CPS, CPO, WS, OP, WPM and SP.

-Safety approve all engineered Work Control Documents, attend daily and weekly production/planning meetings on a daily basis.

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who is familiar with the operation of a Thermal Power Station and knowledgeable with Safe Systems of Work, Rules and associated procedures.

Good communication skills will be essential to ensure you can work across multidiscipline teams, as well as build and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. It will also be essential that you are comfortable with, and capable of, working to tight deadlines.
