Our Role

SSE Enterprise Division has an opportunity to join the Distributed Energy team (they are the contracted UIP Partner and Asset Operator for Indigo Pipelines Ltd) team as Audit & Technical Standards Manager.  This role involves managing a UK wide, small team responsible for undertaking Audit and Inspection duties to ensure satisfactory technical compliance with current industry standards of newly constructed gas networks.

You will manage Periodic Safety Inspections of existing Gas Networks supplying Multi-Occupancy Developments as well as overseeing project management of major Mains Diversion projects from time to time therefore previous supervisory experience will also be essential.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

As Audit & Technical Standards Manager, you should have strong knowledge of; relevant gas industry legislation and regulations relevant institute of gas engineers main laying and service laying standards (TD/3 and TD/4) and IGEM/G/5 (Gas in Flats) Qualifications: Recognised HS& E qualification; SCO trained.

You will have the ability to display an understanding of current Gas industry competitive connection activities and will ideally be an Incorporated Member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers or working towards this.  The ideal candidate will have sound leadership and communication skills and will have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  As this is a field based position, you do require a full current UK driving license.
